I know that it has been almost 10 years since this tragedy, but I also know that this loss must still be affecting his family and friends to this day. After the tragedy, I attended a ceremony at my school where we were all given names of victims to pray for. I was given Mr. McGuinness's name. I still pray for him and his family from time to time, but never actually looked for anything about him until now. This really is a very moving tribute and I hope for the best for his family and friends.

I used to sit next to this guy on the bus and my best friend dated his sister, Amanda. He was a nice quiet kid and I never knew anything about the military or marines till i saw his pic in the paper about this a few years ago. It amazes me how far he went into the military. What a hero. I'll always remember you going over spanish cards or i can't remember what foreign language u were takin freshman year at naperville central. Adam was the coolest guy you could know. In your name, my friend, I taught a unit in my Social Problems class. The subject was war and the assignment was to look up a fallen soldier, research how they lived and how they passed away. I remember you often and feel blessed to have known you. You were a sensitive and funny guy, always helping your friends out! Thank you for becoming a proud Marine... you died too early. Miss him every day, he spoke to me about his girls back at home. I will never forget his sense of humor and his bravery. He was like an open book, so funny how I remember every conversation he had with me. I ran across an article on LaVena Johnson and could not believe what I was reading. I read on and on and came across the article about Keisha, what is wrong with the people running the US Military? These demons will be dealt with because God has the last word. Trust me they will get what is coming to them in more ways we can ever think about seeking revenge, I AM SO ANGRY!!! I am a single mother of one daughter who called me and asked what did I think about her joing the Army Reserve, I have printed documents on these young ladies to send to her,but without a thought I told her no off the break, before I had even read or knew about the rape,mirder suicide cover up of my sisters in the military. Mothers keep praying God hears and knows all. God got them demons!

Hey Hernandez, Brother I know you are no longer with us, but I attended your wake several years ago. At that time I was heart broken, when I learned what had happened. Since then, I have been on two tours both to Iraq. We served as Drill Sergeants together, and man did we have some times to remember. He was a good person. Just one more that had to give his life in Iraq. Thankfully, with all the work and what was accomplished there, he did not perish in vain. My condolences to the parents and family. I served in the Marines for four years and the us army for six now. I am from San Marcos. I am Michael Jones. Again, I just wanted to send my condolences, I just found out that he was killed.
I am a very close friend of the pilot who medivaced Charles to the hospital that day. It was his first mission and would turn out to be his worst. I would like to share some of the letter that I recieved from the pilot on Aug 23, 2009. I will only share what is needed to be said and is a quote directly from the letter.
quote== (I've flown about 100 hours of combat since I got here on May 1st. The first mission I had turned out to be the worst mission I had. I was on scene in about 20 minutes. I flew the soldier 50 miles to the hospital. I pulled all the power the 2 engines had and landed as quickly as I could. We lost another Great American Soldier that day.His name was Charles Parrish. I hope to meet up with him in heaven some day) end quote. Even though He didn't know him personally Charles will forever be on his mind and in his prayers along with his family.
