This kinda hit us all, I can still remember the day that I was told by my commanding officer that we had lost someone over in Iraq, but when we were told of the circumstances of what had happened the only thing that I could think about was the family, his wife and kids, that he had left behind, my heart goes out to any family that has lost someone due to this war, whether it be mentally or physically, I understand the sacrifices that the family faces sending your loved ones over..... I recently just sent my husband over and I don't know what I would do with myself, my wishes and prayers go out to the family...... He was a good executive officer....,

Dave has touched my life in a way that could never be described. He's the epitome of what a Marine truely stands for. There will never be anyone like him. He will be survived by everyone that has met him. I've never met a Marine that deeply cared for his juniors more than himself. My condolences go out to everyone that has suffered this lose. Phil worked for me when he volunteered to deploy to Iraq with the Joint Contracting Command. He was a great officer, a great friend and an incredible husband/father. He was just a couple of days away from returning from his deployment. I received an email from him on 5 April requesting to stay a bit longer so he could finish the job started. I had not yet responded to his email when I was notified by our Commanding Office on Easter morning that Phil had been killed. Miss you Phil!
