FORT DRUM, N.Y. � Three 10th Mountain Division soldiers killed in Iraq when their vehicle was struck Monday by a bomb were identified Thursday by the Pentagon.
Killed were Sgt. Shawn Dunkin, Pfc. Matthew Bowe and Pfc. Adare Cleveland. All three were assigned to the 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment.
Two other soldiers were injured in the attack.
Dunkin, 25, of Columbia, S.C., was a cavalry scout noncommissioned officer who enlisted in the Army in January 2001. He completed basic and advanced individual training at Fort Knox in Kentucky.
Dunkin was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, following his initial training. In October 2005, he was reassigned to Fort Drum. He previously served in Iraq in 2003.
He is survived by his wife and parents.
Bowe, 19, of Coraopolis, Pa., was a trauma specialist. He...
