14, 2007 Michigan soldier who was in Iraq dies after sudden illness

GRAND BLANC, Mich. — A Michigan National Guard soldier who had been stationed in Iraq died after suddenly falling ill.
Sgt. Thomas G. Wright, 38, of Grand Blanc, died May 13 while in flight to Germany for treatment, Master Sgt. Denice Rankin, a public affairs specialist for the Michigan National Guard, told The Flint Journal for a story May 17.
The official cause of death has not been determined.
Wright was called up in 2002 and spent two tours in Iraq. Initially, he went to Iraq with the 144th Military Police Company out of Ow
