I attended the University of Idaho with Phil and he was my platoon commander in ROTC. He was an awesome individual and he will be dearly missed. I heard of his death from my wife while preparing for my own deployment and quite honestly it brought tears to my eyes. It really brings home the dangers our forces face over there.
