Laura Susan Webb is missing. She never arrived at work and it is feared that she was passing through the Edgware Road area at the time of the attack there.

Laura is 29, (date of birth October 12, 1975), approx 5ft 5 inches tall. She is white, of medium build and has long, curly fair hair

A search of the main London hospitals has failed to locate her and her family and friends are now very concerned.

Laura's brother, Robert Webb, said: "We are obviously very worried about Laura. My brother, our parents, other family members, her boyfriend and her friends have been searching all over London for her.

"We cannot believe that, 24 hours on from the attacks, we have no news of her. Laura is a wonderful person and when I saw her only last week she was full of stories about her trip to the Glastonbury festival. We miss her dreadfully and just want her back."

He added: "We understand that there are other people in the same position as us and our thoughts and prayers are with them and everyone else affected by this cowardly attack upon innocent people.

"Laura's father survived the Blitz and it is dreadful that over 60 years on his own daughter has suffered from a new wave of evil attacks upon our capital city."

  I write to commend the Webb family on how dignified, positive and inspiring they have been since the disappearance of Laura last week. I have watched her brothers on televsion on several occasions and their courage and conviction are incredible.


The dreadful incidents of that day have never stopped their belief nor their tireless search for Laura. They have coped with the stress and heartache in such a graceful and admirable way. All of them are in my prayers and I hope that they find Laura as soon as possible. God bless.

  in this world we are living in ppl are too stupid and carless and do not think of the right things to do in life. i will keep laura in a part of my heart even if i didnt know her.I am just a 12 year old child in the island of st.lucia, and i, think wiser than some stupid idiots who are evil and mean.I will pray for laura and all other victims of this very unfortunate incident that occurred.

I am the Chaplain, along with 1SG Obalabi, who made this notification. This was my fifth death notification in 2009. I remembered this one like it was yesterday, and I routinely think about 1SG Rowe’s wife and their son, who was seven at the time. This notification stands out to me because we had to come back to the house a few times because no one was home. We finally saw a light on around 2130, and I and 1SG O went to the door and knocked. 1SG Rowe’s wife answered the door, and it was clear that his wife was not registering why we were there. She did invite us, and we sat down at the table, and ISG O made the notification. 1SG Rowe’s wife said, "Are you sure?" She asked that question five times, and I finally said, " Ma’am, we would not be here if we were not sure. Her response to us was, I just spoke to him a couple of days ago, and he was supposed to come home next week. She immediately got up from the table, called her dad, and notified him. She collapsed to the floor and was crying. The 1SG and I just stood there. We were there for a while, and I remembered that when she asked me to pray, I had to pause a few times to keep from losing it. Cindy, I thought about your husband through the years, and I often wondered how you and your son are doing. I have often prayed for you and your family. And I thank your husband for his sacrifice to our country. I do hope you see this, and I will continue to pray for you and your family. Phil worked for me when he volunteered to deploy to Iraq with the Joint Contracting Command. He was a great officer, a great friend and an incredible husband/father. He was just a couple of days away from returning from his deployment. I received an email from him on 5 April requesting to stay a bit longer so he could finish the job started. I had not yet responded to his email when I was notified by our Commanding Office on Easter morning that Phil had been killed. Miss you Phil!
