Neetu Jain was evacuated from Euston, and boarded a bus instead. Gous Ali, 32, her boyfriend of two years, has not heard from her since.

He fears she may have been in the area of the blast in Tavistock Square. He said her family is "frantic" and added: "I just don't know what to do. I'm going crazy."

As a Muslim the pain of knowing that the perpetrators of this vile act of terror did it in the name of "Islam" is beyond analysis. As a British Muslim I find it difficult to articulate the immense sense of betrayal that I feel these wretched people have committed against ordinary Muslims. Most of all though, I feel an unfathomable pain in my heart for ALL the relatives of the victims of the London Bombings. Though these words may not count for much for those relatives who struggle with forgiveness, I am nevertheless compelled to reveal the true depths of feelings that burden my heart in this most dreadful hour. Deepest condolences and heart-felt sympathies from a British Muslim.

My sincere condolences to the friends and family of Neetu Jain. I had the pleasure of working with Neetu some years ago. Although I haven't seen her since then, I remember her as being bubbly, friendly and keen to learn new things. The world is a greyer place for Neetu's passing.

Dear Neetu,

I somehow got myself volunteered into writing a farewell to you [today/Mon 18 Jul] on behalf of all our fellow MSc classmates from University College London 1990. (I managed to compose this, but alas we missed getting onto the speech list, so here is it electronically. Better late than never.)

We are all very sad to see you have to go away and more so because you won't be back. Our deepest sympathies go out to your nearest and dearest who you now must leave behind.

There [were] flowers & messages from classmates both near & far away who wanted to be here [last week] to see you off : Isabel in Peru, Mitsuko in New York, Peter B in New Hampshire, USA, Vali in Greece, Chris M at Heathrow. Sanjay in New York was rather hoping for a rematch in the squash court, though we all know you would thrash him yet again. And Amir is still asking, "Do you love me ?". Of course we know you will humour him with the right answer !

My, how time flies but, Neetu, even after 15 years, isn't it great that we still manage to meet for dinner ? We were so glad you could make it to the last gathering [Tue 28 Jun]. I expect we will do another dinner some time this summer as well as our usual at Xmas. So, of course, we fully expect you to be there, if not in body at least in spirit.

Last night [Sun 17 Jul], we were at Sanjay's place trying to find words to write about you : sweet, bubbly, smart (you did get a distinction for your MSc, right), feisty, full of good humour, petite, Woodstock (the little bird from Snoopy).

We remembered our course lectures and group projects together. Pizzas in the B02 basement computer lab inspite of the No Food & Drink sign. I will never forget that vivid red and yellow colour scheme you chose for your computer desk top which Sajith in his distinctively strong Sri Lankan accent said were "Typical Indian Colours".

I must sign off now. We will miss you so much but we wish you all the best on your next journey. We will never stop recounting our many happy memories together and that way we know you will live on.

With All Our Love

From

Your Classmates & Buddies here [today/Mon 18 Jul] : Howard & Kim, Dave L, Simon C, Jaspal, Sandhya and myself, Jean.

And The Rest of the MSc Gang around the World.

I don't know what to say except that I knew Neetu once as a work colleague and although I haven't seen her for many years her smile is so memorable I know for sure that she will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

  Dearest Neetu,

your spirit will never die. We have been friends since 1985 when we met as undergraduates and developed strong bonds. You had a great and loving personality and a strong love for your family especially for your nieces and nephew. You were a loyal and honest friend. You will be missed but NEVER forgotten. May you rest in peace. Joanna Galea-Lauri

  To Neetu's nearest and dearest,

I have known Neetu for many years and we became good friends over the years. Its so ironic that I heard from her just the week before the bombing. I am truly saddened by this and cannot imagine how this must be affecting her family. To her parents, her Sister Reetu and boyfriend Gous, I am deeply sorry for your loss and may God give you all the strength to deal with this awful tragedy.

From her friend Jay Patel.

Adam D. Jones

Happy Birthday, Adam. You are missed so much every minute of everyday! XOXO ~143~ You will forever be in my heart and on my mind. Love always, Tammy

Laurie Cobb

She was my 3rd and 5th grade teacher. Today I'm 32 and still think about her. She was the best teacher ever. From her hair children stories to her bubbly happiness and kindness she spread. I'll never forget her. She was the teacher who had lunch with the kids in her classroom so everyone had someone to be with. She made my school experience amazing. I will never forget her.. I love you Mrs. Cobb. Sincerely, Forever in my thoughts, Alyssa (Viau) Capone

Larry E Polley Jr

SPC Polley died almost two decades ago so I don't know if this message will be seen. In honor of Memorial Day, my agency hands out cards with names of those who have fallen. This year, 2023, I received the card for SPC Polley and was inspired to look up more on him. I am thankful for his service and sacrifice. My condolences to his family. He is not forgotten.

Paul C. Holter III

Alex D Gonzalez

Love you and miss you always. Since you been gone it has been hard for everyone. I know you loved what you did, and I want to thank you for our freedom. If I can have you back home and safe living your life man everything would be different. No matter how much money they would offer me I would rather have you alive and home. Money comes and go so it's not worth losing you.

I have never forgotten his sacrifice. I would like to share that the greatest memory I had of Chris is that he would speak highly of his mom and how much she meant to him. Chris was a strong minded person and looked out for other. He was kind and friendly the he made friends with everyone. Chris was truly a great man! I sincerely apologize for not sharing sooner. but would like to express that Chris's memory will never be forgotten! though he is not with us he will always be in spirit! If this message gets to Christopher's mother I she could know she raised a great man and for that I thank you.

James David Parker

I knew James David Parker as "Dave" when he lived in Solon Ohio. We met when I moved into town from out of state. He and his group of friends were a year or two older than me. Dave was a bright beacon of hope and joy to me. I was an unsure young man in a strange place. Dave introduced me to many people and ensured his friends always saved me a seat in the lunchroom. I have fond memories of him and his friends during that time. I doubt so many people would have been as wonderful toward me without Dave's incredible kindness. I've never forgotten his kindness. I hope to be able to pay it forward someday.

Tyler O. Griffin
