Today is the 7th year of the Anniversary of 9/11.

It doesn't matter if I didn't know you Joanne.

I wish I was there to save you by telling you not to go to work later that day. No one knows the future.

The clock of life is wound just once and no one

will know their final hour here on earth.

Indeed there has been so much injustice in this world since man inhabited the earth and you were right in the middle of it September 11, 2001. May your life depict the beauty of everything that is good in the world. May the holy spirit give us light, strength, and love. I run in the NYC Marathon every year for our servicemen and women and for those who died 9/11. Your star in the sky now is shining down upon us in Heaven with God.

Michael Wojcio New Jersey

Dear Joanne, I know you are in Heaven right now, and I'm so sorry your life had to end this way. I myself am a survivor of those attacks. Everytime I see your picture I feel this connection even though we've never met. May God bless your soul always and please pray for us, as we will for you. I will see you one day at the gates of heaven.

Joanne, You don't know me but as a fellow Greek, I feel I lost someone very close to me. It is just a tragedy what happened to you and the rest of the victims of the 9/11 tragedy. Your smile in your picture will always remain forever in my mind, and I hope your smile ensures the terrorist behind this that they have NOT (succeeded) in breaking the spirit of the American people. May your memory be eternal and may your family find the peace one day very soon in dealing with your tragic lost. Na se echi kala o Theoulis. With much love,

Basil Fottis

Although I never knew you and never will your picture has touched me deeply. In your eyes the pain of 9-11 comes to me as a haunting dream. The youth and beauty that was taken from the world by your light being extinguished has made all of mankind the worse. I know your family must be devastated, for I know one such as you surely was loved greatly. In another life you now reside for ever away from the evil of this world. Rest with ever lasting peace.

The light that shined in those beautiful eyes, was extinguished here but for a time. When on Heaven Seas we first arrive, we again see that light within those eyes.

Joanne was an acquaintance back in the early 1990s at Stony Brook University. She was friendly and smart, and I'm sorry not to have heard better news.

Laurie Cobb

She was my 3rd and 5th grade teacher. Today I'm 32 and still think about her. She was the best teacher ever. From her hair children stories to her bubbly happiness and kindness she spread. I'll never forget her. She was the teacher who had lunch with the kids in her classroom so everyone had someone to be with. She made my school experience amazing. I will never forget her.. I love you Mrs. Cobb. Sincerely, Forever in my thoughts, Alyssa (Viau) Capone

Larry E Polley Jr

SPC Polley died almost two decades ago so I don't know if this message will be seen. In honor of Memorial Day, my agency hands out cards with names of those who have fallen. This year, 2023, I received the card for SPC Polley and was inspired to look up more on him. I am thankful for his service and sacrifice. My condolences to his family. He is not forgotten.

Love you and miss you always. Since you been gone it has been hard for everyone. I know you loved what you did, and I want to thank you for our freedom. If I can have you back home and safe living your life man everything would be different. No matter how much money they would offer me I would rather have you alive and home. Money comes and go so it's not worth losing you.

James David Parker

I knew James David Parker as "Dave" when he lived in Solon Ohio. We met when I moved into town from out of state. He and his group of friends were a year or two older than me. Dave was a bright beacon of hope and joy to me. I was an unsure young man in a strange place. Dave introduced me to many people and ensured his friends always saved me a seat in the lunchroom. I have fond memories of him and his friends during that time. I doubt so many people would have been as wonderful toward me without Dave's incredible kindness. I've never forgotten his kindness. I hope to be able to pay it forward someday.

Tyler O. Griffin

Condolences to the family. Freedom is not free, it cost this man's life. Thank you is not enough. Grieving is not enough for your loss though it is all we have, the Sandoval Family
