We lived together for the year and remained friends afterwards. I will always remember George as an 18-year-old kid with a quick wit and a sincere heart. I cried my eyes out the days after the attack when I saw my old roommate's picture on the news as missing from the World Trade Center. It had been many years, but I recognized that grin and those eyes, just like we were still sitting in our dorm room as freshmen.
