Dear family Keiffer - How I feel for you all and how I will be lifting you up and praying that you can face each day knowing that Keiffer's life and death is not in vain. Somehow, somewhere, his and your story will prevent anothe son or daughter and family from being tormented like this. I lost my brother who was older but he is still alive in my heart and soul. I think of it without even trying as I live here in Texas and he lives in another place....state?...heaven. ...where there is no pain. I even visit with him from time to time and tell him that I'll see him soon. And in the scheme of a lifetime or eternity, I know this to be true. He may be taken away from you phsycially, but he is still very much alive in your heart and your soul....and you likewise are there with him. A brother is different than a son though....and I cannot even imagine your pain after being so hopeful for him to find his place as a young man. I just pray that you will be strong and that you are surrounded by loving arms and kindred spirits and that somehow each day is a a little better until you come to that place in your journey where you know that you will be united again. Keiffer's life was not in vain. His story has touched me as I too have a son that doesn't quite fit in and struggles with it all....Know that people are praying for you.
Clay,I was so looking forward to your return to Ft. Richardson (Anchorage, AK)Your family is in my thoughts and prayers for I know what a wonderful person they have lost. Thank you for your service and rest in peace handsome!
To the friends and family of Pfc. William Z. Vanosdol:My deepest sympothies during your time of loss. My son is stationed at FOB Echo with Bravo Company, 1st Batt., 2nd Inf. Reg., 172nd Inf. Brigade and I just received an e-mail from him yesterday informing me of the loss of their fellow soldier. As a parent of a son in harms way, you should know that I am proud of all the young men and women serving there and can only hope that others appreciate the sacrifice that you have made. Be proud that your son was willing to fight for a cause greater than himself in helping to secure peace and freedom for his fellow mankind.S.E.Doster
You and Rick were in the 82nd Airborne Division Chorus together along with many of your other friends. I'll always remember you as being happy and also very funny! And definately for the singing and dancing! Man, you could dance! You were such a good friend to those that knew you. You have touched our hearts in many ways and you will never be forgotten! Thank you for serving for our country! It is an honor to call you a true Hero! You will forever be in our hearts. May God be with you, your family, and friends and may you rest in peace! You will be missed! ~ A. Rudd
